Once again, we find ourselves at the midyear point ~ this third week of June, the summer solstice. This celestial event marks the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. Beyond its astronomical significance (which my mom, our Touch of Earth founder, had great reverence for!), the summer solstice carries profound meaning for cultures worldwide, serving as a poignant reminder of our deep connection to nature.
Nature plays a crucial role in shaping our lives. It provides sustenance, inspiration, and a sanctuary for the soul. The solstice, with its ancient rituals and modern-day celebrations, underscores our dependence on the natural rhythms that govern our planet. From the dancing flames of bonfires that symbolize purification (so excited for our new fire pit) to the joyous gatherings that mark the turning of the seasons, humanity has long honored this day with gratitude. Mom taught us at a young age to honor this rhythmic changing of seasons.
