How to Use Touch of Earth Essential Oils ~ these oils are potent!

Essential oils are the most powerful components of a plant, harnessed and concentrated into a small amount of liquid. Essential oils, AKA volatile oils, are not only fragrant, but also have aromatherapeutic benefits when inhaled. But, essential oils are strong! So the question we’re answering today is: how do you best use Touch of Earth essential oil blends?

Use on Your Wrist

Pick your favorite blend and do a patch test on the inside of your wrist. A little goes a long way, a few drops (like 2!) should do. Make sure your skin does not get irritated. If it seems ok, you can use your favorite blends on your wrist, similar to how you would use a perfume. It is not recommended to apply essential oils direct to your body, just the wrist if your skin does not react.

With a Carrier Oil

For those with sensitivities when you tested on your wrist, you may need to mix your essential oils with a carrier oil. Using a carrier dilutes the powerful properties of the essential oil ~ you can then apply it just like you would a moisturizer. Examples of carrier oils are sweet almond, fractionated coconut, jojoba, and avocado.

In Your Diffuser

Using a diffuser with essential oils is an easy way to make your space smell amazing and use aromatherapy to help therapeutically. Feeling stressed, get our Stress Less and diffuse it at your office or in your home. Want help with your sleep routine so you can ensure a peaceful nights rest? Try Sweet Sleep in a diffuser next to your bed. Or, my sister's favorite (she's a 4th grade teacher)...grab some Mindfulness and diffuse it in your classroom! Brilliant. The kids (and their parents) love it!

On the Soles of Your Feet

I am loving using our essential oils on my feet right now! Did you know that the soles of your feet have the largest pores on your body? This makes it an excellent place for the oils and all their properties to absorb. Also, the skin on the bottom of the feet is tougher than the rest of the body...so, there is less of a chance for your feet to react to an essential oil. We put a few drops on the soles in the morning, to start the day or at night with socks on, as we wind down. And, a foot soak is always a good idea!

Any way you use Touch of Earth oils, you are sure to love them and love the benefits you get from using them! Be sure to write us and let us know if you have questions. Or, tell us how you love to use your oils!

xoxo
