Cold and flu season is definitely upon us! So much is going around right and so many people have been sick this holiday season...it prompted me to highlight Respiratory blend for it's benefits against coughs, colds, the flu and even Covid.
Respiratory blend contains some powerful oils. Eucalyptus, lavender, frankincense, palmarosa and cinnamon bark make this blend a powerful antiviral and antibacterial agent. But two of these oils stand out in particular, I'd love to highlight the benefits of eucalyptus and cinnamon.
Eucalyptus
1. Respiratory Relief: Eucalyptus essential oil is renowned for its ability to support respiratory health. Its invigorating scent can help clear nasal passages, making it a go-to remedy for those suffering from congestion or seasonal allergies. Diffusing eucalyptus oil can create a refreshing atmosphere, promoting easier breathing and a sense of clarity.
2. Immune System Support: Rich in antioxidants, eucalyptus essential oil has been linked to immune system enhancement for decades. Regular use may help fortify the body's natural defenses against common ailments, making it a valuable addition during cold and flu seasons.
3. Mental Clarity: The crisp, clean aroma has a rejuvenating effect on the mind. It is often used to combat mental fatigue and promote focus.
Cinnamon
1. Antimicrobial Properties: Cinnamon essential oil boasts potent antimicrobial properties, making it a natural choice for battling bacteria and fungi. When diffused or inhaled it helps reduce the risk of infections.
2. Mood Enhancement: The warm and spicy scent of cinnamon has a natural ability to uplift the spirits. Inhaling this delightful aroma can promote feelings of joy and combat stress!
3. Blood Circulation Boost: Cinnamon essential oil has been associated with improved blood circulation. Improved circulation benefits the body's ability to deal with infections from virus and bacteria.
A Harmonious Blend: Eucalyptus and Cinnamon
While each essential oil in Respiratory offers distinct benefits on its own, combining eucalyptus and cinnamon can create a synergistic blend that enhances both physical and mental well-being.
To harness the benefits of these essential oils, consider diffusing Respiratory in your space, inhaling it direct from a tissue, or mixing it with a carrier oil (like jojoba) to put a drop or two on your chest or the bottom of your feet (essential oils are absorbed most efficiently from the bottom of the feet!). Whether you seek respiratory relief or immune system support Respiratory is a strong weapon for your medicine cabinet, especially this time of year!
Special note: Respiratory blend is powerful. It should not be put directly on skin. Please dilute it (2-3 drops is all that's needed) in a squeeze of a carrier oil like jojoba. Same goes for your bath! Aim for a low dilution ratio, typically around 1-2%. This means adding about 6-8 drops of essential oil per 1 ounce (30 ml) of carrier oil for a full bath!
