Scars can be a constant reminder of past injuries or surgeries, and many people are on a quest to find effective ways to reduce their appearance. One promising solution is our scar-fighting oil blend, Scar Be Gone. This unique combination of oils has been shown to have beneficial effects on scar tissue, helping to fade scars and improve skin texture.
What causes scars to form?
Before we dive into the benefits of Scar Be Gone, it's important to understand how scars form in the first place. When the skin is injured, whether it's from a cut, burn, or surgical incision, the body goes into overdrive to repair damage. During this process, the body produces collagen, a protein that helps rebuild and strengthen the skin. However, the new collagen fibers that form during the healing process are often different in texture and appearance compared to the surrounding skin, resulting in a scar.
How does Scar Be Gone work?
Scar Be Gone is formulated with a combination of oils that have been specifically chosen for their beneficial properties. These oils can help to moisturize the skin, improve elasticity, and promote the regeneration of healthy skin cells. Rosehip oil and lavender oil (both in Scar Be Gone), are known for their anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce redness and swelling associated with scars. Frankincense oil and helichrysum oil (also both in Scar Be Gone) have been shown to stimulate the production of collagen, helping to improve the overall texture and appearance of scars.
When my dad had open heart surgery, my mom worked hard on this blend. It was his health journey that pushed my mom, the brains behind all of these blends, to come up with something that would help heal his massive thoracic scar. And that it did! He became a walking testimonial for this blend...his doctors were amazed!
All of the oils in this blend are strong and mighty in the quest to get rid of scars, but helichrysum is the powerhouse in Scar Be Gone. In traditional French Aromatherapy, it is recommended to apply helichrysum directly to an open would for it's immediate support in regeneration. A little goes a long way.
SCAR BE GONE USE: For old scars, use a few drops daily for 3-6 mos. For new scars, use it two times daily for a few weeks.
